America Online Configuration

If you are an America Online subscriber and signup for a Masscot Internet account, it is still possible to connect to AOL -- at a reduced cost. America Online members can change their AOL billing method to "Bring Your Own Access" (BYOA).

Your computer will use your ISP connection to connect to AOL via the Internet (using TCP/IP). When connecting to AOL via TCP/IP, you should notice faster connections to AOL, faster screen redraws, speedier downloads, and fewer "throw offs."

As of April 1999, the cost of BYOA access to America Online was $9.95 per month for unlimited access. You will be billed this amount by AOL, in addition to your ISP access charges, which will remain unchanged.

Connecting
Once connected (via your normal method), start AOL.
